Tidmouth Shed from the Classic Series |
This is based on the Classical Series era Season 1-7 of Thomas and Friends. This is where my overall thoughts of each of the classical series are layout. Please note these are my own thoughts.
Season 1 Overall Opinions
Overall, Season 1 was an awesome season in my opinion. Even though it's a mix of great and favorite episodes in this season, it's still an awesome season. The reason why it was awesome was that not only was it great to have a new show being introduced with fun characters and awesome sets. It also had some great music to go along with the sets and characters having interesting background that set them up for the first and some that get built on more down the road with the show.
Season 2 Overall Opinions
Overall, Season 2 was another awesome season in my opinion. This season overall was a mix of good and Great episodes. Some were even good enough to be labeled as favorites. This season was enough to add more to Season 1’s base of simple and plain. Season 2 brought on new locations, new characters and new development with the existing cast of characters. Season 2 was great even with awesome episodes.
Season 3 Overall Opinions
Overall, Season 3 is a season that was great in my opinion. This season overall was a mix of favorites and Great episodes. Some were even good enough to be labeled as favorites. What made it a great season and not one that would be awesome is that it brought the current characters that we already see to new locations on the island of Sodor with new engines being introduced as well as development with the existing cast of characters. Season 3 was great even with awesome episodes. Also expands on current locations with different engines going to or passing by in season 3.
Season 4 Overall Opinions
Overall, Season 4 is in the middle between being great and another favorite season in my opinion. This season overall was a mix of favorites and great with few being good episodes. This season thanks in part to its budget, was able to bring narrow gauge engines to the show and show how they play a role in helping to keep their little railways going up in the hills. Love how the first 18 episodes was told like one big story starting with the 1st episode "Grandpuff" and weaving its was through to the 18th episode with each previous story's event affecting the next story. Nice to see how they were able to use the narrow gauge engines railway stories to bump this series up and to bring back the sense of there being a story behind the episodes like in Season 1 & 2.
